Vidal Blanc 2018
VQA ONTARIO | 750ML
TASTING NOTES
The aromas of grapefruit, peach, apricot are prominent on the nose. Flavours of honey and peach with a crisp acidity to give the wine perfect balance.
VINTAGE & VITICULTURE
A slow start to the season with a cool spring but summer brought hot dry weather perfect for grape growing. Mother Nature however turned the tables on winemakers in Ontario with a wet humid fall. Harvest was quick in an effort to pick fruit before rains affected the quality of grapes.
WINEMAKER’S NOTES
Great acidity is the wines defining characteristic and has made one of its parents Ugni Blanc (Trebbiano) famous in cognac. Fermentation is kept cool and was completed in 12 days. Wine was removed of the lees quickly to maintain a fresh crisp finish.
